Linden Place
Bristol Rhode Island
The preservation of Linden Place involved phased renovations and restorations to a federal period house museum and outbuildings. Linden Place was purchased with historic bond issue funding; thereby necessitating review by the state historic preservation commission for all work. Long range planning addressed prioritization of various projects, while immediate concerns addressed accommodations for fund-raising functions and rental of the ballroom facility. Renovations to the carriage barn included the design of a new commercial scale kitchen to serve functions of up to 250 people, along with refurbishing multiuse space for uses ranging from art exhibits to lectures and small assemblies.
