The restoration of an 1860's Second Empire period house will serve as an extension to the John Carter Brown Library, providing living quarters for visiting scholars in a rooming house context with shared kitchen, dining and living facilities. The public areas of the residence will include a study and meeting/conference spaces, decorated with period furnishings and fixtures.
