Irving Residence
Newport, Rhode Island

The Irving residence is situated among the summer estates of Newport's Ocean Drive.  The contextual design received the approval and praise of the Historic District Commission.  The Irving's home is organized around a twenty-eight foot high interior court, open to the sky above with numerous skylights. 

The design incorporates passive solar aspects, natural ventilation, and open floor plan, with interlinked interior and exterior spaces for casual entertaining.
